HPS Harbinger U.V.
Coven: Crescent of Gravitas
Location: Fargo, ND
My name is Harbinger. I am the High Priestess, Coven Head and founder of the Crescent of Gravitas and the current Vice President of the Spiral Tree Tradition. I have been following the Left-Hand Path for the better part of the last decade, although I discovered an interest and propensity for it around the age of 13.
I grew up in the Fox Valley of Wisconsin in a Pentecostal church. My spirituality has always been of utmost importance to me and, as a child, I loved my church and community. I was a devout Christian until my pre-teens when I discovered that I, as a female, was not as valued as my male counterparts and that I was not allowed to express myself in the ways I deemed fit under their guidance. I lost faith in my path at that point and began searching for a different way to connect to the Divine.
It didn’t take me long to find a new path (Witchcraft) but, due to my age and lack of resources, it did take me until 2009 when I moved to Fargo, North Dakota to become more serious about my practice. I was a solitary practitioner until 2014, when I became acquainted with the local Pagan community. I practiced with a study group for roughly two years before I joined a Coven.
I discovered the Spiral Tree Tradition during an Ostara celebration in 2015, hosted by a member of the Heart of the Pentacle Fellowship. I did not come to it as my path until Beltaine of 2016, however, when I finally joined the Heart of the Pentacle Fellowship. I became the Assistant Coven Head at Imbolc of 2017 and remained so until I initiated into the Third Degree on February 14th of 2020. The Crescent of Gravitas was formed the following day.
Our group has a heavy emphasis on female empowerment and the healing of deep traumas from various traumatic experiences. Our Magick is creative, eclectic, and intuitive. While we are a humorous bunch, we take our path, practice and dedication to one another and this group seriously.
As a leader, and licensed educator, I tend to take a layered approach to teaching with a mix of books, conversations, group work and individual practice. I believe heavily on the importance of “failing” when learning, thus, I encourage the approach of trial and error.
